Mirai no Neiro (Sound of the Future) is a grass-roots volunteer group who aim to introduce Japan’s Vocaloid culture to countries around the world. So far they’re doing a pretty amazing job – having pulled off highly successful unofficial Vocaloid concerts in the US, Germany, Taiwan, Denmark, Switzerland, Mexico and Chile! After their wildly successful first UK performance at last year’s HYPER JAPAN Christmas Market, Mirai no Neiro will once again being their A-game to the UK.

The world-famous pigtailed girl in green will once again be gracing the stage at Hyper Japan! Fans will be able to watch a large-scale Hatsune Miku singing and dancing to a selection of fan-made songs, naturally accompanied by glow sticks available to audience members to perfect the Miku fan-event atmosphere. This performance will be showing on all three days of the event, at the LIVE.JAPAN stage, so make sure you drop by!

What is ‘Vocaloid’?

Vocaloid is a technology for singing voice synthesis developed by Yamaha. Users combine melody and lyrics into a synthesized singing performance. In other words, with this technology, singing can be produced without a singer. Singing voice synthesis is produced by using fragments of voices recorded from actual singers. Since its release, users of Vocaloid have uploaded millions of fan songs to sites such as Youtube and Niconico, cementing it’s place in music history.
