I’ve seen a number of concerts over the years but never stepped outside of the UK to witness my favourite band perform live, until now! Earlier this year I looked around the arena at BABYMETAL‘s concert at The SSE Arena, Wembley and was blown away by all the different flags flying in front of me. After I noticed that SCANDAL were to perform in Paris following London, now was the time to jump on the Eurostar and soak up the atmosphere in a foreign environment!
I wasn’t disappointed! The VIP (hi-touch event) had already sold out and some die hard fans had already been queuing outside of the venue since the early hours of the day to ensure they were front row, centre – right in the middle of the action! I was completely blown away by SCANDAL’S performance in London the night before but Paris was on another level! Not only did all band members really give it their all – even more so than London, the audience were pumped and needed little encouragement to clap, jump to every song or just sing as loud as they possibly could!
Not only did tonights crowd clap and stomp their feet so loud that the building was shaking, demanding an encore, tonights audience also sang ‘Joyeux Anniversaire’ (SCANDAL are celebrating their 10th Anniversary this year!) to the band once they came back on stage! SCANDAL themselves couldn’t believe the response they received and at the end of the evening, fans in the audience handed SCANDAL various flags from those countries they had visited during the ‘YELLOW’ tour, binders packed with messages and photos and a giant banner created by SCANDAL France!
Rina shared her passion for French culture – taking time to address the fans in French and has been busy studying the language while TOMOMI was almost in tears, overwhelmed by the incredible response and touching gifts from fans. It’s safe to say SCANDAL have made their mark and won many hearts across Europe over their two visits and tonight will be a memorable evening for fans and band members alike!
